In December 2024, Oma HelpingHands set up a solar-powered borehole in Iyegwu, Kogi State. For years, families—mainly women and children—walked miles each day to fetch unsafe water. The new system now gives safe, steady water straight to the community, cutting illness and saving precious time.
More than 200 households now use clean water, protecting over 1,000 people from waterborne diseases. Women and girls no longer face the strain of long trips, leaving them more time for school and family life. This effort shows how compassion, faith, and partnership can change a whole community.
